Of the 140 series, 129 show their episode lists publicly, adding up to 737 episodes. 259 of them are free, which is about 35 percent. The remaining 11 series are tagged Spicy and hidden from guests, so they have no public free episodes at all. The only series that breaks the two-episode rule is Simona Rossi: Wrong But Right, which gives you three.

The arithmetic is satisfyingly tidy: 129 public series times two free episodes, plus Simona Rossi’s extra one, gives exactly 259. At one to two minutes an episode, that is a free marathon of roughly four to eight hours before you spend a single token, enough to sample every tag in the library.

- Open the Shorts library. Go to Candy Shorts on Candy.ai; no download is needed, since Candy runs in the browser.
- Pick a series. Filter by Candy Creators, Candy characters or other characters, or by a tag such as Stepsister, Wife, Fantasy or Teacher.
- Play episode 1. It starts for anyone, with no account. Use 0.5x–2x speed, subtitles or fullscreen as you like.
- Create a free account for episode 2. Sign-up opens the Shorts feed and the second free episode.
- Stop at the lock. Episode 3 shows its token price. If you are not paying yet, you have seen everything free for that series.
Tip: watch episode 1 of five or six series before signing up for anything. It takes about six minutes, and you only create the free account for the one or two premises you want to continue.
How far does Candy Shorts free go?
How far Candy AI Shorts free viewing goes depends on how long the series is, because the free allowance is fixed at two episodes while series length is not.

The pattern is clear. On a five-episode series, free covers two-fifths of the story; on the 34-episode one, it is a long cold open. Two free episodes add up to roughly two to four minutes of viewing, since episodes run about one to two minutes each. That is enough to judge tone, language and whether the premise holds you, which is its job. It is not enough to finish anything.
It helps to know what the free pair can and cannot tell you. It shows you the tone, the strength of the dialogue, the production style and whether the lead characters hold your attention. It cannot show how the story resolves, how a longer series sustains its tension across 15 or 34 episodes, or how far the later episodes go. Treat a free pair that leaves you curious as a good sign, and one that leaves you indifferent as a reason to move on to another series, because locked episodes cost real money and cliffhangers are built to feel urgent whether or not the story deserves it.

Read across any row and the logic is plain: Candy opens the door to Shorts wide and keeps the rest of the house behind Premium. That is a fair deal for a sampler, as long as you know where the doors are.
The free sign-up also changes what you can do outside Shorts, and the limits are tight. According to Candy’s terms, a free user can send at most 5 messages to AI characters. Creator chats ask you to upgrade before you can talk to them. When paying for Candy Shorts makes sense
Pay when you have finished episode 2 of a series and genuinely want episode 3. After that it is a matter of arithmetic. A standard series needs 36 tokens to finish from episode 3, a creator series needs 90. Try different series lengths in the calculator below.
Two rules of thumb come out of it. For a single series, the first month at $9.99 is the cheapest way in, and it carries 100 tokens, so you would have spare ones for a second. If you will watch several, the yearly plan’s $47.88 gets 1,200 tokens at about $0.04 each, which is $1.44 of token value for a five-episode standard series. Length changes the price, so check the episode count before you commit. Simona Rossi has 12 locked episodes (15 minus its 3 free ones), which is 144 tokens, about $5.75 of token value on the yearly plan and more than one month’s 100 tokens. A standard five-parter needs only 36. The 34-episode My bestie betrayed me takes 384 tokens, about $15.32 at yearly token prices, which makes it a project rather than a casual unlock.
What not to do is chase a free workaround. Can I watch Candy Shorts without signing up?
