What is House Rules about?
House Rules is a five-episode Candy Shorts drama about a stepmother who turns an empty house into her own game. Her husband’s son comes home from college, his father is away on a work trip, and Veronica welcomes him with a list of “house rules.” Candy’s description is blunt about her motive: she is restless, and the rules exist to take what she wants while his girlfriend is under the same roof.
Veronica is Candy’s original character Veronica Parker, the same profile that leads Staycation with My Fiancée’s Mother, so fans of that series already know her style. The stepson and his girlfriend go unnamed in episode 1. Stepfamily here means marriage, not blood, and everyone is an adult. Candy tags the series Milf, Stepmom and Taboo, and the tone is dominant and mischievous rather than romantic. Everything on this page comes from the free episode and the official blurb.

Veronica welcomes her “handsome stepson” home and confirms that Dad is on a work trip, so it’s just the two of them for the week. Rule one: follow her every command. She shows him where to put his things and invites him into the hot tub she is warming up. His girlfriend calls to say she’s visiting tomorrow, and rule two arrives on cue: no calling your girlfriend today. When he protests that she’s his stepmom, Veronica answers with an order: shower, in ten minutes, and don’t make her wait.
Episode 2 Free · sign-up
Episode 2 inherits two deadlines: the shower Veronica ordered and the girlfriend’s visit, now less than a day away. Candy’s blurb says the girlfriend ends up under the same roof, so expect the rules to escalate and get harder to hide once she arrives; the series is built around that collision. We won’t invent scenes.
The paid stretch is episodes 3 to 5 at 12 tokens apiece, 36 in total. That is the standard Candy Shorts rate, and it barely dents a Premium month: the 100 monthly tokens cover House Rules and a second standard series with 28 to spare. If your tokens come from the yearly plan, those three episodes are worth about $1.44 (October 2026). These episodes are built to be where Veronica’s rules collide with the girlfriend’s visit: expect each new rule to cost him more, with close calls and the series’ most explicit scenes saved for the end. Unlock House Rules on Candy once episode 2 has you hooked.

House Rules review: is it worth unlocking?
Our verdict: The best-value stepmom story in our guides and our second-ranked new release. Episode 1 is one of the most efficiently built openers in the batch, the price is as low as Candy Shorts gets, and the tags promise the heat to go with the dominance. Worth the 36 tokens.
The best idea in House Rules is structural. Veronica numbers her rules out loud, so the episode plays like a countdown, and each rule is a small escalation her stepson can only refuse by admitting why he wants to. The girlfriend’s call (“I’m coming to visit you tomorrow”) adds a deadline, which is exactly what a one-minute drama needs.
The dialogue is blunt rather than clever. His “You’re my stepmom” exists to be overruled, and you can predict most lines, but at 60 seconds, seven under the roughly 67-second Candy Shorts average and the second-shortest opener among the new public titles, nothing is wasted. Chemistry is deliberately lopsided: she commands, he resists a little less each time. Use the two free episodes to judge how consistent the AI faces and the house look.
On value, 36 tokens is less than half the 90 a creator series costs. My Girlfriend’s Stepmom runs a similar one-rule setup at the same price with the same tags, but House Rules is the more dominant and better structured, thanks to the numbered rules and the girlfriend’s deadline. For a slower, quieter affair, Staycation with My Fiancée’s Mother (also Veronica Parker) is the restrained alternative, and our Candy AI pricing guide shows which plan makes tokens cheapest.
Heat level 4/5 (our estimate): Candy tags it Milf, Stepmom and Taboo, and episode 1 already runs on orders, a hot tub and a shower summons. A dominant, openly sexual premise with a suggestive free episode: we expect explicit paid episodes. Not Spicy-tagged, so 4 of 5.
